The tells

Your water is telling on itself

Nobody books a test after reading a water quality report. They book one because of something they can see, taste or feel. Usually one of these.

White film on everything

Glassware leaves the dishwasher hazy. The shower door clouds over within days of a scrub. That residue is calcium and magnesium, left sitting there after the water dries off.

Skin that never rinses clean

Hard minerals stop soap from lifting away, so a thin layer stays behind after every shower. Tight, itchy skin and hair that will not hold body usually trace back to this.

An appliance bill you keep paying

Scale coats the heating element and wraps it like a blanket, so the unit works harder for less hot water. Dishwashers and washing machines wear the same way, quietly, for years.

Chlorine in your coffee

Chlorine keeps city water safe on the journey to your street, and it earns its place doing that. It has no business still being there when you fill the kettle.

Our systems

Sized to your house, not a price list

A well outside Weatherford and a tap in Arlington are two different jobs. So are a small ranch house and a five bedroom on an acre. We measure first, then recommend.

Standard Whole-Home Softener + Filtration

48,000 grains. Soft water and chlorine filtration in one tank.

Handles the two problems almost every Fort Worth home has at once: hard water that scales your pipes and water heater, and chlorine that makes water taste like a swimming pool and dries out skin and hair. One tank, one valve, installed free.

Best for: Most 3 to 4 bedroom homes on city water

BG800 AlkaPro Tankless RO

800 gallons a day, 7 stages, no bulky tank under your sink.

Tankless reverse osmosis that filters down to 0.0001 microns, fine enough to take out lead and other heavy metals, dissolved solids, chlorine and common contaminants. Because it's tankless, you get water on demand and your under-sink cabinet back.

Best for: Anyone who wants better drinking and cooking water

Dual Tank for Well Water

Dual Tank for Well Water

Built for iron, sulfur and that rotten-egg smell.

Well water is a different problem from city water. This system pairs a softening tank with a Katalox Light tank to pull out iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide: the cause of the smell, the orange staining and the metallic taste. Two ProValves, one per tank.

Best for: Homes on a private well

How it works

The first two steps cost you nothing

Telling someone their water is fine loses us a sale and wins us a neighbour who tells people about us. We will take that trade every time.

  1. We test at your kitchen sink

Fifteen minutes, in your kitchen, no charge. You watch the numbers come up as we run them. Nothing gets emailed to you days later.

  2. We read the numbers out loud

Hardness, chlorine, iron, whatever the test finds. Plain words, what it is doing to your pipes and your skin, and what it looks like if you leave it alone.

  3. We match a system to it

Built around your readings, how many people live there, and where the equipment can physically sit.

  4. We fit it free and stand behind it

Our own crew, usually a half day, and the space is tidy when we leave. The warranty runs for as long as the system is yours.

Sean, founder of Blue Giant Water Co, with his wife

Our story

A Texas family, and Texas water.

I'm a fourth generation native Texan. My family has been drinking this water for over one hundred years, and for most of that time nobody in my bloodline gave it a second thought.

Blue Giant started in my own home. With spotted glasses coming out of the dishwasher, a water heater that gave up years early, and a quote from a national brand that made no sense. I have a wife and three kids. Once I understood what Texas water was doing to our home, and to their skin and hair, I could not unsee it.

We're a local family owned business. You'll talk to the same people from the first test through installation and every follow-up. No call centers, no quotas, no pressure to buy the biggest system on the truck. I'd rather tell you that you don't need a system than sell you the wrong one.

The blue giant in our logo is water at full strength. That's the power I want coming out of your taps, and out of mine.

Sean, Blue Giant Water Co.

What to look for

How to judge an install before you buy

Three things worth checking in any company's photos, ours included.

Can you reach the bypass?

If the bypass valve is tucked in behind the tank, servicing the system means draining it first. You should be able to reach it standing up, without moving anything.

Is the pipework carrying its own weight?

Pipe that hangs unsupported puts its load on the valve head. Give it a few years of that and the connections start to weep.

Does the drain have an air gap?

The drain line has to finish above the rim of the standpipe with a visible gap. Run it straight in and you have joined your drain to your drinking water.

Coverage

How far the truck goes

Tarrant County

Home base. Fort Worth, Arlington, Keller, Southlake, Mansfield, North Richland Hills and the rest of the county. Most of it is supplied from Tarrant Regional Water District reservoirs, and the water arrives hard enough that scale on fixtures is the norm rather than the exception.

Parker County

Weatherford, Aledo, Willow Park, Springtown and Azle. Well-water territory: big lots, private wells, and hardness levels that regularly come back higher than anything on the city side of the county line.

Johnson County

Burleson, Cleburne and Joshua, running south from Fort Worth. Well water is common outside town, and it's where iron and sulfur systems get fitted most.

Denton County

Denton, Flower Mound, Lewisville, Roanoke and Argyle. The one part of our area where we regularly see both city water and private wells. The two need different systems, so this is where a free water test earns its keep.

Wise County

Decatur, Bridgeport, Boyd and Rhome. Predominantly rural, predominantly well water, and the part of our area where a water test most often changes what we recommend.

Hood County

Granbury, Tolar and Lipan. Lake-area homes on both city and well supplies.

Before you book

Asked and answered

Just how hard is Fort Worth water?

Most of Tarrant County comes back between 8 and 14 grains per gallon, which sits in the hard to very hard band. Wells west and south of the city often read higher again, and bring iron with them.

What am I likely to spend?

It moves with your readings and your house, which is the reason we test before quoting. You get the figure in writing at the visit, with nothing tucked underneath it.

Free installation, genuinely?

Yes. Our own crew, half a day for most systems, and the space gets left clean.

What is covered, and for how long?

Tanks, ceramic discs and dry parts stay covered for as long as the system is yours. Control valve, circuit board and media run 5 years, installation labor 1 year.

Softener, filter, or both?

Two different jobs. A softener protects the whole house from scale and lets soap do its work. Reverse osmosis makes drinking water at a single tap. Plenty of houses run both, plenty run one. The readings decide it.

How long will you be at my house?

A softener or an RO unit is generally a morning. Dual-tank well systems can run the full day, depending on what the plumbing looks like.
